BT Broadband Accelerator (formally the BT I Plate)

BT I Plate/Broad band Accelerator, manufactured by Pressac UK who supply BT Openreach.

BT Wholesale has developed the Broadband Accelerator, a unique filter that isolates the bellwire, minimizing any interference. The filter can be quickly and easily installed by the consumer without disconnecting any wires. This eliminates the time, trouble and cost of needing a visit from an engineer. A benchmark study on 36,000 lines showed that the accelerator can:-

• Boost line speeds typically by 1.5Mbps.The actual change will vary from line to line(some have even recorded increases of up to 4Mbps!)Although speed improvements are likely,they can’t be guaranteed.It’s worth noting that the BT Broadband Accelerator also helps to stabilize the broadband connections.
• Extend the reach by up to 10db(which should help poorly performing long lines)
• Reduce lost connections by 20% and error rates by 45%

Please note that the BT Broadband Accelerator is suitable for both ADSL1 and ADSL2 lines.

You need an NTE5 type socket (Pictured Right) to fit a BT Broadband Accelerator If you do not have an NTE5 see HERE for details on why the Accelerator/I Plate is NOT for you but how you can have the same benefits!

Even if you DO have an NTE5 take a look to see a NEATER solution!

Please note, the accelerator will ONLY fit an NTE5 type socket, if you have an NTE5 with the BT Openreach logo you do not require this item, it will also not fit in conjunction with ADSL faceplates such as the NTE2000. (ADSL faceplates have the same speed benefits!).
