Company in Cardiff, Wales

Our client in Cardiff required a new telephone system and computer network. run-IT-direct installed a 24 point CAT5e network including a 12U patch cabinet, patch leads and associated hardware. A Panasonic KX-TDA30 telephone system was supplied and fitted. This system has 4 ISDN lines in with 12 extensions. A remote maintenance card is fitted to allow the clients own IT department to make admin changes to the telephone system. Panasonic KX-TCA155 DECTphones were also supplied so the client can roam their yard and be on the phone to clients/suppliers. An external link was also required to connect to a remote portacabin for phones and data network. The whole project was completed in 2 days.

Installation & Patching of RJ45 Panels including patching into customer exiting BT Norstar Telephone system

Our customer required new voice links between buildings. 2 20 Pair cables were installed in underground duct work, external jelly filled CW1128 cable was used as required. This was then terminated to internal grade cable via 20 Pair connection boxes (Pictured)  which in turn were terminated to RJ45 Panels to allow the customer to patch into their existing structured cabling and telephone system. A Fibre Optic link was also required to give a fast data link between the buildings, a  4 Core 62.5 Fibre was installed and terminated with SC connectors, SC-SC Patch leads and SC Patch panels were also installed as required. The contract also involved the removal of CAT5e cable that had been incorrectly installed in the duct work (External grade cable had NOT been used!) This was hindered by the fact that the duct was blocked, upon further inspection it became apparent that the original contractor had JOINED the CAT5e cables, these junctions were blocking the duct and causing the cable to snag. These were successfully removed without damage. Needless to say the replacement cables were installed correctly with the correct specification of cable! TRUST run-IT-direct to do the job correctly FIRST time for you!

43 Point CAT5e Network in Rosset, Nr Wrexham

Our customer required a cat5e structured cabling solution to be completed with minimum disruption. run-IT-direct installed all the cabling, trunking, wall outlets and data cabinet out of normal office hours. The client left the building on Friday and returned Monday with a complete CAT5e install completed! The task was made even more impressive due to the nature of the install-an old building covering two floors comprising of 17 rooms to be cabled. The install was quality checked three day's after the initial install was completed and is covered by industry standard 15 year warranty.

Wastefile UK, APW Patch Frame Supply & Installation

Telford's Wastefile UK contacted run-IT-direct to sort out their patch cabinets. Their existing cabinets were overloaded and in need of a sort out! run-IT-direct removed the existing patch cabinets and fitted two APW 42U Patch Frames. The existing structured cabling panels were fitted into the new frames. Shelves for the customers routers, firewalls and Nortel BCM equipment were also provided. Finally, three six outlets PDU's (Power Distribution Units) were fitted to keep the power supply side of things neat & tidy. ALL existing patch leads were replaced with colour coded leads and the entire structured cabling system was wire mapped with the customer receiving both a paper copy and word format copy for easy updates to the documentation. Work was completed out of hours for obvious reasons and an engineer was on site Monday morning to ensure no errors had been made. (ZERO errors were found!)

Following the successful completion of the project we were then commissioned to install additional floor outlets in the building, a total of 12 CAT5e wall outlets were installed out of office hours.

run-IT-direct were called in to wire map the existing network and tidy the patch cabinets, going from this :-

run-IT-direct wire mapped the entire cabinet-the customer being presented with both a paper copy and a word format copy for future amendments.  The entire cabinet was colour coded for voice & data for ease of identification.  The entire job was completed out of office hours for zero disruption to the customer.  6 Outlet PDU's were installed to take care of power management and ring hoop cable managers were installed to take care of the patch leads. NEW patch leads were used throughout for future reliability. Shelving was installed to allocate the companies routers. run-IT-direct also supplied 2 Prism 42 U Server Cabinets for future proposed IT expansion.

Following the successful completion of the above project we were commissioned to complete further works at the customers premises. The existing patch cabinet (pictured below) was replaced with a 42U cabinet for future expansion. All existing CAT5e cabling was transferred over to the new cabinet. Two fibre links (one previously installed by run-IT-direct) were also transferred. The cabinet was fitted with new cable management bars and a 6 outlet PDU. The entire cabinet was labelled (using a Dymo industrial printer) and wire mapped with the customer receiving a copy for future amendments.

Centre For Alternative Technology

The Centre For Alternative Technology (CAT) in Machynlleth required a fibre optic link installing between the two stations for their cliff railway. run-IT-direct installed a 4core multi mode armoured fibre for the task (62.5/125). ST patch racks were installed to match existing fibre installations. We also supplied a 6U wall mounted cabinet and two CAT5e ports for the new office. The railway rises 180ft (60m) steeply up a cliff so it was deemed necessary that armoured fibre be used for added protection. The whole project was completed in one day. Site Location:Wales

Construction Company in Pontfadog

Our customer required a cat5e structured cabling installation in their new premises. We installed a total of 30 CAT5e points and supplied and fitted the necessary patch cabinet, patch panels, cable management bars and PDU. The customer was supplied with patch leads and a patch panel to enable BT to patch their new telephone system into the network cabling, we supplied the necessary RJ45 to BT converters for the telephones. Finally, a wireless network was installed at their other premises to enable wireless sharing of a broadband connection. Site Location: North Wales

Panasonic Telephone Systems

run-IT-direct have been commissioned to supply & install Panasonic telephone phone systems at various sites across the UK.

Pictured above is a 64 point CAT5e network housed in a 39U patch cabinet. The telephone system is fully integrated into this and consists of a Panasonic KX-TDA200 PBX and KX-TVM50 voice mail system. We also installed Panasonic DECT cell stations to allow seamless use of DECT with the PBX. Also seen in the picture are the power outlets (PDU's) & 3Com switch.
