NTE5 BT Openreach Type Master Socket (NTE5A)
BT NTE5 Master Socket, manufactured by Pressac UK who supply BT Openreach.
Please note, we supply the latest version of the NTE5(A) that features the filter on the bell wire circuit for IMPROVED ADSL PERFORMANCE!
NOT all versions of the NTE5 currently available feature the bell wire filter! This is the same socket as BT Openreach install (minus the Openreach logo) made by the SAME company!
The NTE5 is the type of master socket that is commonly installed. It allows easy testing of the BT network by removal of the front lower faceplate to reveal the test socket. IDC terminals on the rear connect to the incomming BT line, IDC terminals on the front faceplate allow the end user to easily connect internal telephone extension wiring.
You can see the new bell wire filter (inductor) fitted to the PCB
HERE and the new moulding in the front panel
HERE
Note the presence of the moulding does NOT guarantee your socket has the inductor!
Find out why this is a neater alternative to the BT I Plate (Interstitial Plate)/BT Broadband Accelerator HERE.
For ADSL installations the lower half of the front faceplate can be replaced with a filtered faceplate such as the NTE2000, NTE2005 or XTE2005 clone, see related products below (this will give the same benefits of the bell wire filter with the addition of centralised ADSL filtering).
This socket will replace ALL variants of the NTE5, NTE5A, NTE5B & CTE5.
NTE5A is
the type of socket that BT Openreach currently supply, it is a 3 piece design:- back box, rear
plate & front face plate with integrated bell wire filter.
