Below is a picture of the new BT VDSL faceplate PCB. It uses a much improved PCB design and is the only faceplate available approved for VDSL. The IDC connections are for running a broadband extension (early versions did not have these connections).
The VDSL faceplates we supply are identical to the BT Openreach versions minus the Openreach branding. They are made by Pressac who supply BT & are the only faceplate on the market approved for VDSL. They are backwards compatible with all ADSL services.
Installation of the BT VDSL faceplate is very simple, if you are not running an extension for broadband there is NO wiring to perform! Simply undo the original lower front of the NTE5 socket :-
Move the front plate out of the way (if you have no other extensions running from the master socket your lower front plate will not have any wiring on it!) :-
The long awaited BT vDSL faceplate is available now. This is identical to the one BT Openreach supply & fit (made by Pressac) minus the Openreach branding.
Note we are supplying the LATEST revision with improved PCB design and provision for a hard wired vDSL extension. These faceplates are backwards compatible with all ADSL services and are the only approved vDSL faceplate available on the market.
BT/Openreach are currently trialing a new vDSL faceplate filter, pictures below. These will be made by the current supplier to BT and as you can see take the design of the BT I Plate/Broadband Accelerator as their base. We expect these faceplates to be available in the summer at similar pricing levels to the current NTE2000 & NTE2005 ADSL faceplates.
We've had a few questions regarding ADSL 2 compatibility for the NTE2000 & NTE2005 filtered faceplates. The manufacturer (Pressac) has confirmed that both faceplates are compatible with ADSL 2 services.
