CCA cable does not comply with industry standard specifications, therefore there is no such thing as a Copper Clad Aluminium CAT5e, 6 or 6a cable. The only cable which is classified as CAT5e, CAT6 or CAT6a contains pure copper conductors. Copper Clad Aluminium cable also poses a fire risk, it is unable to withstand Power Over Ethernet (POE) applications. When power is applied, the cable will rapidly overheat, with the initial temperature increase being twice that seen from a pure copper cable.
